For the first time the auto show in Detroit was held in 1907. For a long time it was the only American car company. The international status of the exhibition was in 1989, and with it a new name – the North American international auto show. Along with Geneva, Paris and Frankfurt, he is among the leading dealers of the world.
The auto show in Detroit is one of the most interesting sites of the global automotive industry, where debut many of the most significant innovations of the year. This year autoshow will host 55 world premieres and North American production models and concept cars.
For exhibition lighting in Detroit arrived more than 5 thousand journalists from 60 countries. The organizers expect that in the days of the motor show which will be visited by about one million people.
The part of the show were announced winners of the annual contest «North American car of the year». The title «North American car of 2016» Honda Civic went to the tenth generation ahead of the final of the Chevrolet Malibu sedan and the Roadster Mazda MX-5. In the nomination «the North American SUV/utility vehicle of the year» the winner was the Volvo XC90 crossover, fought in the finals with the Honda Pilot and Nissan Titan XD.
In 2015, the title «North American car of the year» was awarded to the Volkswagen Golf, the best was named SUV pickup Ford F-150.
